Belladona is an effective ingredient of analgesics and antispasmodics. It abounds in alkaloids that are supposed to relieve smooth muscle spasms, dilate bronchi and even promote proper function of the excretory system. The substance is sometimes recommended for cardiovascular, nervous system and abdominal diseases.
In folk medicine, it’s also applied to treat rheumatism.
