Characteristics
The oil is characterized by a light, yellowish color and a fresh, herbal scent. In its composition you will find numerous active compounds, including:
- Terpinen-4-ol (38.8%) – with antibacterial and antifungal activity,
- γ-Terpinene (19.6%) and α-Terpinene (9.4%) – with antiseptic properties,
- 1,8-Cineole (9. 0%) – with anti-inflammatory properties.
Application
Tea tree oil is intended for use in cosmetics for acne and oily skin, where it has antibacterial and cleansing effects. In hair cosmetics, it shows anti-dandruff and inhibits greasy hair. Meanwhile, in aromatherapy, it helps with respiratory ailments and boosts immunity.
