Lemon verbena oil has citral, limonene, geraniol and nerol in its composition, which give it strong antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It also contains natural antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals and have an anti-aging effect.
Uses of verbena oil
Verbena oil is primarily used in aromatherapy, as its scent is relaxing, calming and anti-depressant. It is sprayed in a room to soothe nerves, relieve tension and make it easier to fall asleep. It can also have an anti-stress effect and relieve symptoms of anxiety. In skin care, the oil is used in cosmetics for oily, acne-prone and mature skin. It helps restore the skin’s natural pH balance, tones, firms and smooths the skin, increasing its elasticity and density. Lemon verbena oil can be added to creams, lotions and tonics, as well as to shampoos for oily hair. It can also be used as a natural insect repellent (including mosquitoes and ticks) by diffusing or adding to protective lotions. Avoid using undiluted oil directly on the skin or contact with the eyes.
