Properties of lactobionic acid
The product comes in the form of an odorless white powder.
It has properties that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
Due to its ability to bind water, it has strong moisturizing properties.
Use in cosmetics
Lactobionic acid is used in cosmetics for dry, sensitive and vascular skin.
It can be found in preparations for skin with rosacea.
Its other uses include creams to reduce wrinkles, soothe inflammation, lighten hyperpigmentation and speed up skin healing after cosmetic procedures.
Concentrations of up to 10% are used in cosmetics for home use, while up to 50% are used in specialized office treatments.
Lactobionic acid rarely causes irritation and can be used all year round.
However, a skin test is recommended to rule out allergic reactions.
In addition, during the summer it is worth using cosmetics with UV filters together with lactobionic acid.
