Types of oil-soluble dyes
YELLOW AND OIL DYES
They give cosmetics warm, energizing hues. Examples of such dyes are:
- Carotene (C.I. 75130) – used in tanning oils, self-tanners, BB creams, lipsticks and glosses
- Annato (C.I. 75120) – used in body cosmetics, lotions, body oils and bronzing products
- QUI Yellow (C.I. 47000) – used in lipsticks and lip pencils, sunscreens and massage oils
RED AND PINK DYES
These are popular dyes used in lip cosmetics and tanning products. Among them you can find:
- ER Red (C.I. 26100) – used in lipsticks, glosses, nail polishes and lip care products
- Ruby (C.I. 15850) – can be found in lip cosmetics, hair styling products and sunscreen lotions
BLUE AND GREEN DYES
They give cosmetics cool tones, often used in hair products. Examples:
- Oil green (C.I. 61565) – found in hair dyes, styling cosmetics and protective oils
- Oil blue (C.I. 60725) – found in hair styling cosmetics: gels, waxes, pomades, sprays and hair dyes
BROWN AND BLACK DYES
Mainly used in coloring and styling products. These include:
