Properties and Application of Zinc Ricinoleate
Zinc ricinoleate is widely used in the cosmetic industry, primarily as an effective odor neutralizer. Thanks to its unique ability to bind volatile odor molecules, it does not mask their smell like typical fragrances, but chemically binds and thus eliminates them. This makes it particularly valued in deodorants and antiperspirants, as well as in foot care products or products for problematic skin.
The product is characterized by high purity and stability. It has a slightly acidic pH in the range of 3–5, so it is well tolerated by the skin. The product’s moisture content remains very low, which indicates its durability and stability.
Zinc ricinoleate can also be used in cosmetics for sensitive skin, natural cosmetics, and “free from” formulas – e.g., alcohol-free, aluminum salt-free, or artificial fragrance-free.
