Lime oil is rich in limonene, β-pinene and γ-terpinene, which give it strong antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Lime oil, like most citrus essential oils, is phototoxic – sun exposure should be avoided for about 12 hours after its application to the skin. Use it only diluted and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
