Application:
Citronella oil is one of the most popular natural insect repellents, especially mosquitoes. Due to its strong repellent properties, it is used in a variety of products, such as candles, sprays, lotions and body oils, which effectively repel insects both indoors and outdoors. Through its antiseptic properties, it is also effective against bacteria and fungi. It can be used to disinfect wounds, and as an ingredient in skin care products prone to bacterial or fungal infections. It is also used in oral hygiene products to support gum health and freshen breath. Citronella oil can also be used as a massage, when properly diluted in a carrier oil, to relieve muscle tension and improve circulation. Meanwhile, inhalations using it help clear the respiratory tract, relieving symptoms of colds, coughs or upper respiratory tract infections. Citronella oil, like any highly concentrated essential oil, should be used with caution. It is recommended to avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply the pure oil directly to the skin – it should always be diluted in a carrier oil.
