Oligopeptide-5 mainly acts on FGFR-2b receptors located on the surface of the epithelial cell membrane. The key function of this peptide is to stimulate phosphorylation of tyrosine residues within receptor cells. Once phosphorylated, the receptor acquires protein tyrosine kinase activity and interacts with a variety of target proteins in the cell, initiating signaling cascades. The phosphorylated receptor exerts biological effects such as repair, anti-aging, anti-wrinkle and soothing effects.
Oligopeptide-5 is used in a variety of skin care products, including lotions, creams and gels.
