Features and Action
Cyperus esculentus oil is characterized by a high content of oleic acid and the presence of linoleic and palmitic acids. As a result, it exhibits the following properties:
- nourishing and regenerating – supports the reconstruction of the epidermal lipid barrier, increases its elasticity and softness,
- moisturizing and protective – reduces water loss (TEWL) by creating a delicate protective film,
- antioxidant – the content of unsaturated fatty acids supports the neutralization of free radicals,
- soothing and nurturing – the oil is well-tolerated even by dry and sensitive skin.
Due to its low acidity (approx. 0.54%) and oxidative stability (peroxide value 7 meq O₂/kg), the oil maintains durability and physicochemical purity, making it an excellent component for formulations requiring high-quality plant lipids.
