Cosmetic ceramides
Ceramides are lipid cosmetic ingredients used primarily in preparations supporting the skin’s protective barrier. They correspond in structure to compounds naturally occurring in the stratum corneum of the epidermis, where they co-create the lipid matrix surrounding skin cells.

In cosmetic formulations, ceramides help limit excessive water loss, support maintenance of proper hydration, and improve the comfort of dry, rough, and sensitive skin. They are used in barrier, regenerating, and protective cosmetics, as well as in preparations intended for mature skin or skin exposed to frequent washing and adverse external factors.
