Unlike traditional fruit extract, the blueberry is not subjected solely to extraction. It serves as a raw material used in cascade fermentation, resulting in a ready bioferment in the form of a filtrate.
Bioferment Production Process
The raw material is produced through multi-stage fermentation involving the following strains:
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG,
- Lactobacillus acidophilus LA02,
- Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BS01,
- Streptococcus thermophilus FP4,
- Streptococcus thermophilus LMG 21908.
The use of five strains and the cascade nature of the fermentation allow the raw material to be presented as a combination of a plant ingredient with a modern biotechnological process.
Properties of Blueberry Bioferment
- cosmetic raw material of biotechnological origin,
- obtained from Vaccinium corymbosum fruits,
- produced through a multi-stage cascade fermentation process,
- controlled microbiological purity.
Application in Cosmetics
Bioferment can be utilized as a key ingredient in formulations and entire cosmetic lines based on the synergy of nature and biotechnology. Depending on the results of formulation studies, it may be applied in:
- cosmetic serums and essences,
- toners and mists,
- creams and light emulsions,
- cosmetic masks,
- body care preparations,
- hair and scalp care products.
Its liquid form facilitates the incorporation of bioferment into formulations. The recommended concentration and addition stage should be determined based on technological trials and stability assessment of the finished cosmetic product.
