How does fermented tomato extract work?
During fermentation, microorganisms transform part of the fruit’s natural components, creating a mixture of plant-derived compounds and fermentation metabolites. This may affect their solubility, availability in the formulation, and the way they interact with the skin. The final profile of the raw material, however, depends on the strain used, fermentation conditions, and further processing.
The primary cosmetic function of fermented extract is skin and hair conditioning.
