Blue Spirulina (Phycocyanin) Variants:
E6 – approx. 6% phycocyanin (low purity):
This is the most basic variant of blue spirulina extract, with the lowest pigment concentration and lower purity. Ideal for applications where color intensity is not crucial – e.g., in inexpensive dietary supplements, skincare cosmetics, and food products with low color requirements. An economical option for manufacturers looking for a natural coloring additive.
E18 – approx. 18% phycocyanin (medium purity):
An intermediate variant, used as a natural food coloring and additive for cosmetics and supplements. It offers a more intense color than E6 while maintaining a favorable price. It works well in applications where we need a distinct, but not necessarily maximum coloration or antioxidant effect.
E25 – approx. 25% phycocyanin (high purity):
A product with high pigment content and purity, which is used in nutraceutical products, functional foods, and premium cosmetics. Due to its higher phycocyanin content, it has stronger antioxidant properties and shows greater pigment stability. It is often chosen for serums, masks, balms, and higher-quality supplements.
E40 – approx. 40% phycocyanin (very high purity):
The purest and most concentrated variant. Intended for premium applications – in anti-aging cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, luxury supplements, and nutraceuticals. It provides the most intense color and the highest level of antioxidant activity. It is the most stable and effective among all available variants.
