Turmeric – properties
Turmeric is a very well-known spice that adds aroma and flavor to dishes. It is worth knowing, however, that it is obtained from the long-stemmed oyster of the ginger family, which also has medicinal uses. Its other names are saffron, yellow or simply yellow ginger. It contains: calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, sodium and zinc, although it is worth taking primarily for its curcumin content.
Effect of turmeric
It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, so it can be used in cancer prevention. It promotes nerve cell differentiation, improves digestion and reduces pancreatic inflammation. It can also lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
